 The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology(MEST) presented Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education(BOE) with the best education office award for excellence in the 2010 Comprehensive City and Provincial Education Office Evaluation. The best education office award is given to the organization that demonstrates extraordinary achievement in the 5 categories of national and regional education policy application, student competence promotion, teacher capacity progress, education-supporting system efficiency, customer-satisfaction and public servant's ethics set forth as the evaluation criteria
by MEST. BOE received outstanding evaluations evenly in all five areas.
This honorable award acknowledged BOE's outstanding accomplishments in private education fee reduction, local education policy application, students' health and security promotion, and education welfare consolidation that BOE has been specifically dedicated towards. It also valued BOE's distinguished specialized programs, including 「UP SCHOOL」 Campaign that has raised a huge amount of education funding from business sectors, 「NA-RE-RO-BANG」operation for both academic and job counseling, and region specific custom-made after-school programs. MEST shall in return award the best education office「BOE」 a considerable amount of special funding that allows further improvement of education in BOE.
This achievement no doubt has resulted from both 30,000 education family's unyielding efforts and alert Busan citizens, which willingly monitor programs, encourage, and give meaningful feedback on our performance of educational policies. We know that this award surely speaks of innovation and excellence in BOE. In keeping with BOE's the enduring tradition of "excellence", BOE will never stop with its effort, but continue to seek the best way to realize BOE's educational dream; delivering a dream to students, self-esteem to teachers, and satisfaction to citizens. |
